I have created this memorial as a tribute to my amazing sister Joanne. Even now, months after her passing, many people whos lives she inspired are still wishing to tell her friends and family how much she was loved and what a huge miss she is. After a life long battle with a severe genetic condition she sadly lost her fight but that fight lives on on in those who admired her courage and determination to make the very best out of a poor situation, and to 'suck it up' which was her favourite saying. Joanne had a habit of being able to put a positive twist on any situation and often left anyone complaining about small problems feeling completely humbled and from a personal point of view a little embarrassed! Joanne managed to end up with a masters degree, even though she initially had to fight to even be allowed to take GCSE's due to the fact she was in a wheelchair. She never gave up on anything she set her mind to achieve. Just weeks before her death she decided to take part in a charity midnight walk for St. Oswalds Hospice. After arguing with her until I was blue in the face that she didnt have to do it, I finally relented. She was going to attempt it no matter what. Joanne was the best sister and daughter anyone could ever have and she has made me the person I am today. She was a pure legend in my eyes and I will miss her more than anything. Its been two long years tomorrow since you made your break for it! Not much has changed so your not missing much. Apart from Dad now fancies himself as a bit of a Steve Mcqueen and bought himself some ancient bike so watch this space! I've been off for two weeks on holiday and back on nights tomorrow so bit sick! Hope everything is ok, still miss you loads. Go canny!

well Joanne I'm jetting off on my holidays tomorrow! Off to Lanzarote! Bit cheap and cheerful but beggars can't be choosers! Dad is finally taking Mam to Cornwall in August as well, thank god! Might stop her going on about it!!! Hope all is well! Miss you lots, Sam xx

Well....the house has had a lick of paint...new carpets and it looks ok, and I think Mam's quite happy with it, which as you know is the main thing !.Still got my job too, so all is reasonable at the minute. About to listen to the NUFC vs Arsenal match as no doubt you are...........I know I must sound like a broken record Joanne, but....... we all miss you loads and loads and loads .....keep smiling pet and see you soon. Waiting for exam results to come back to see if I an get me degree so bit anxious at the moment! Especially since you werent around to do it for me!
